Frontmatter

Frontmatter is a short block of YAML key-value metadata at the top of a markdown file: things like a title, type, tags, or timestamp. It is what makes a plain document machine-navigable. In the Open Knowledge Format, frontmatter plus the markdown body is exactly what an agent reads to find the concept it needs.
